Brisbane Serviced Apartments FAQs

Can I provisionally book an apartment?

Unfortunately we are unable to make provisional bookings. All bookings require credit card details which will then cover the first night’s accommodation.

Can I book an apartment without a credit card?

Again, unfortunately this is not possible. All bookings require details of a valid credit card, as payment for the first night’s accommodation and as a form of guarantee. We are unable to accept cash payment for accommodation. A $300-$500 bond may be charged.

Is there a surcharge for using my credit card?

There is no surcharge for Master Card, Visa or debit cards. There is a non refundable 4% surcharge for payments with American Express or Diners Club.

When is the accommodation charged to my credit card?

Once your details are entered in our reservation system you will be emailed a Reservation Confirmation of your booking. This normally occurs straight after you make a booking. The credit card is then charged the first night’s accommodation and a receipt is also emailed to you.  The balance is charged on arrival. If staying on a ‘monthly rate’ the first week is charged on arrival.

Is it safe to fill in my credit card number on the website? How secure is the your website?

Yes. Your credit card information is sent to us through a secure server. We use the latest, most secure technology available, which encrypts all your credit card details. The encryption method used is the industry standard “Secure Socket Layer” (SSL) technology. Our SSL certificate has been issued by Thawte.

Can I cancel my booking if I need to?

Yes. To cancel a reservation please contact us as soon as possible by telephone, fax or email, quoting your Reservation Number.  If your booking was made on a 3rd party website, such as Wotif.com or Booking.com, then please notify them in the first instance and they will advise us.

What is your cancellation policy?

Should you wish to cancel or change the arrival date for a booking that has been made direct with Republic Apartments, you may do so, without charge, until 48 hours prior to the arrival day. Cancellations received after this time will be liable for the cost of the first night’s accommodation. For bookings made through 3rd party websites please refer to their cancellation policy.

How long will it take to respond to my reservation request?

Typically, while we ask for a maximum of 24 hours, it usually doesn’t take that long and every effort is made to respond within 2 business hours. If you cannot wait, you may need to contact Republic Apartments.

Are rollaway beds available?

Unfortunately we do not offer rollaways or make any changes to existing bedding.

Are infant’s cots available?

Yes. Fold-out portacots are available on request @ $10 per night including linen.

Are infant’s hi-chairs available?

Yes. Hi-chairs are available on request @ $5 per night.

What bedding configuration options are available?

Standard bedding configuration is as follows:

  • 1 Bedroom Apartments:     1 x Queen bed
  • 2 Bedroom Apartments:     2 x Queen beds OR 1 x Queen and 2 x Single beds
  • 3 Bedroom Apartments:     2 x Queen and 2 x Single beds

How many can I sleep in each type of apartment?

The maximum numbers, including children, are as follows:

  • 1 Bedroom Apartments: 2 persons
  • 2 Bedroom Apartments: 4 persons
  • 3 Bedroom Apartments: 6 persons

The above figures do not include infants cots.

Can I check-in early?

“I am arriving early from the airport and would like to get into my apartment as soon as I arrive. Is this possible?”

The only way we can guarantee an apartment in the morning is for you to book the night prior to the date that you wish to arrive.

As our check-out time is 10am, we are unable to guarantee apartments before 2pm. However, we will endeavour to accommodate you as soon as possible. If you arrive before 2pm then luggage may be left in our store and collected later in the day.

Where and how do I park my car, and how much will it cost me?

At Republic Apartments we offer 4 levels of easily accessible self-parking at no charge if you book via our website. One vehicle per apartment. However, this is subject to availability, so if you require a car park please mention this when making your booking.

Can I leave my vehicle in your car park if the apartment is not ready?

Yes this is possible, but please advise the office of this prior to your arrival.

Can I request a specific apartment?

We can guarantee an apartment type (i.e. 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom or a 3-bedroom) but not a specific layout or apartment number.  You are welcome to request a certain aspect (NE / SW / SE) and even a high or low level and every effort will be made to fulfill the request, but we cannot promise it.

What are Serviced Apartments?

A Serviced Apartment is a self-contained, fully equipped and fully furnished apartment, comprising of a living area, bedroom(s), bathroom, laundry and kitchen – all the facilities of home. The apartments are referred to as being ‘serviced’ because they are managed, maintained and cleaned for you, in a way that you would expect from a hotel. The frequency of servicing varies from one property to another. Republic Apartments are serviced every fifth day, or once a week for those staying on a monthly basis. Apartments can be booked quickly and our rates for serviced apartments include electricity, gas and water, just as you’d expect in a hotel. Republic Apartments offers more than double the space and even a car park – for the price of a good hotel room.  All the extra facilities, security and space – for the cost of a good hotel room.  Savings are made by serviced apartments by restricting office hours and daily servicing of apartments.

Can I arrange Internet access on arrival?

300MB per day of FREE wireless Internet access is available in all our serviced apartments.

How big are the apartments at Republic Apartments?

Our apartments are all generous and vary slightly in size. A minimum size for each type, including the balconies, is as follows:

  • 1 Bedroom Apartments = 70m2 (750 sq feet)
  • 2 Bedroom Apartments = 95m2 (1020 sq feet)
  • 3 Bedroom Apartments = 122m2 (1310 sq feet)

As a guide please note that an average comparable 4 or 5-Star hotel room in Brisbane would be 28m2.

Can I have a late check-out?

Our check-out time is 10am and often we are able to offer a slightly later time, but please note that this may be possible on request and is subject to the next guest’s arrival time!

Can I leave luggage in a store room after I check-out?

Yes, we do have a store where luggage may be left. However, management is not able to accept responsibility for contents of bags and all items must be collected before the office closes that same day. Please note that under no circumstances can luggage be collected outside office hours or left in the store overnight.
